musée du débarquement Utah Beach
The Utah Beach Landing Museum was established in 1962 at the very place where American troops landed on June 6, 1944. In ten chronological sequences, the museum evokes the German occupation, the forces present on the eve of the D Day, the allied strategy and the unfolding of 6 June 1944 in the area of Utah Beach. Star of the new museum, an authentic Martin B-26 Marauder bomber plane is exhibited in the hall built for him, accompanied by two flight simulators.
Upon leaving the site, the visitor will understand the strategic choice of this Norman beach and the reason for the military and technological success of Utah Beach. Utah Beach is one of five allied landing beaches in Normandy.
