About

The Unterlinden Museum is an art museum located in Colmar, Upper Rhine. It has been run for more than 150 years by the Schongauer Society, a local legal association with financial and administrative autonomy. It benefits from the appellation musée de France, controlled by the service of the Museums of France.

Unterlinden Museum

Around the Gothic cloister of the 13th century, collections from the 15th to the 18th century are displayed. Modern and contemporary works have been presented since 2015 in an extension by the architects Herzog & de Meuron. The most famous work, the altarpiece of Issenheim, is exhibited in the old Conventual Church.
