mémorial de Thiepval
The Franco-British memorial is a memorial of the First World War, located on the territory of the commune of Authuille and Thiepval, near the village of Thiepval, in the department of the Somme. It is dedicated to the Franco-British armies and British soldiers who disappeared during the Battle of the Somme in the second half of 1916. A military cemetery where French and British soldiers are buried is at his feet.
A reception and interpretation centre was built at the entrance to the site. It is composed of sixteen pillars as the sixteen largest battles of the First World War.
