The Synodal Palace is located in Sens in the Yonne in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, raised by Archbishop Gauthier Cornu (1222-1241). It is a state property that was classified as a historical monument in 1862 and restored by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. The synodal palace is next to St. Stephen's Cathedral in Sens and the archiepiscopal palace (currently the Sens Museum).
