The Bienvillers Military Cemetery is a military cemetery of the First World War, located on the territory of the commune of Bienvillers-au-Bois, in the department of Pas-de-Calais, southwest of Arras.
Location: This cemetery is located at the southwest exit village, rue Saint-Etton.
The Bienvillers military cemetery was started in September 1915 and continued until March 1917 when the area was near the front line. From March 1917 to March 1918, as a result of the German withdrawal on the Hindenburg line, the front fell about 30 kilometres to the east, resulting in the closure of the cemetery. It was again used from March to September 1918, when the village was again near the front line during the Spring offensive. After the Armistice, many graves were brought back from temporary cemeteries created during the battle of the heights of the Ancre. The cemetery now contains 1607 Commonwealth burials of the First World War, 425 of which are not identified.
