Mausolée de Cucuron

France

About

The Cucuron mausoleum was discovered in 1970 during excavations in the Pourrières district northeast of the village. Its construction and use range from the first century BC to the first century C.E. He is witness to the rapid assimilation of the local population and the economic power taken by the large Gallo-Roman families in the Gallo-Narbon region. The results of his excavations are exhibited at the Marc Deydier Museum in Cucuron.
