About

Notre-Dame-de-l'Étoile Chapel is a Roman Catholic place of worship located on Rue Moreau in Bobigny.

Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-l'Étoile

First chapel: This chapel takes its name from the hamlet L'Etoile, where it is located. In 1937, Abbé Laugeois celebrated the midnight Mass in a disused factory. In 1938, a subscription was launched which led to the acquisition of an old factory by the Cardinal's Work of Buildings. The chapel, dedicated to Our Lady of the Star "Sancta Maria, Stella Matutina", is blessed by Cardinal Verdier on January 22, 1939. It is the work of the architect Paul Tournon, who combines concrete for frame and stone or brick for apparatus. Unfortunately, this building was destroyed by fire on the night of October 23, 1978.

Reconstruction: After three years of effort, the church was rebuilt by the work, and consecrated on March 21, 1982 by Father Chapellier. It is a brick building with a two-sided roof, and a modern metal bell tower flanking the entrance. The chapel, octagonal, is at the back.
