église Sainte-Thérèse des Joncherolles
The church of Sainte-Thérèse des Joncherolles is located 21 Nungesser Avenue and Coli, in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis). In 1927, a chapel called Notre-Dame-du-Salut-Hors-les-Murs was built and blessed in October 1927 by Cardinal Louis-Ernest Dubois, archbishop of Paris. Becoming too small in a growing demographic area in the 1950s, a new 800-seat, square-plan building was built with traditional materials: wooden frame and slate cover was built in the 1960s.
A fundraiser initiated by the Work of the Cardinal's Buildings is organized to raise the necessary funds for the construction The twelve side windows present stained glass windows by Marguerite Huré and Marcelle Lecamp. They evoke scenes from the Old and New Testament and are traditionally arranged with cold colors to the north and warm colors to the south. Religious and secular music concerts are sometimes held there.
In 2011, the church received the label "Heritage of the 20th Century". It is a station on the road to Compostela that crosses Plaine Commune.
