Saint-Étienne Church is a parish Catholic church located in Clairoix, Oise, France. It was probably built from the beginning of the 13th century, but the profound alterations from the 16th century onwards and the simplicity of its architecture no longer allow to reconstruct with certainty the evolution of the building over the centuries. Thus, it is not known whether the nave bottoms have ever been implemented, and how the entanglement of Gothic and Renaissance elements on the bell tower belfry floor, which stands out from the rest of the building by its elegance, and does not have its same in the vicinity.
It seems only probable that the current cross-section of the transept was initially a first right span of the choir, and that the current cross-sections were only added to the flamboyant Gothic period. Under the same countryside, all the vaults are redone. Their delicately carved vault keys make the main interest of the interior of the church, except the furniture.
The key to the base of the bell tower displays the three crescents of Henry II, and thus informs about the period of completion of the flamboyant changes, in the middle of the sixteenth century...
