The Sainte-Croix Chapel is a historic monument of Reims.

Presentation: The chapel is located at the entrance to the North Cemetery, opened in 1787, which is the oldest in the city, it slowly supplanted the former parish cemeteries that had now disappeared.

The building is currently enclaved by the railway right-of-way, rue du Champ-de-Mars.

The Sainte-Croix Chapel, which received the body of Alexandre Gonsse de Rougeville, known as the Red House Knight, by Alexander Dumas' novel, is classified as a Historical Monument. This set has been classified as historical monuments since 15 November 1927. It also served as a burial for Abbé André Nicolas Savart, who died on April 3, 1819, and Abbé Nicoals Malherbe, who died on January 1, 1820. It was built on the plans of diocesan architect Nicolas Serraurier, composed of a peristyle of four columns surmounted by a triangular pediment, it included a black marble altar and a painted decor imitating funeral draperies.
