Petit Jard
Le Petit Jard is a green space of Châlons-en-Champagne ranked as a remarkable garden in 2015. Built in 1861 for an agricultural committee, it is both an arboretum and a landscape garden. The arboretum initiated in 1938 by Charles Hermant and Pierre Gauroy was redesigned after the 1999 storm.
The garden extends over a space of three hectares crossed by the Nau, tributary of the Marne, and dominated by the castle of the Market which was part of the fortifications of Ancien Régime de Châlons. Four statues representing the four seasons and carved by Juan-Carlos Carrillo are present.
