Beaurepaire Castle is located in the commune of Beaurepaire-en-Bresse in Saône-et-Loire.
Description: The castle is in the form of a long body of rectangular houses. A stone bridge gives access to a passage in a pavilion. At the southwest corner, a large pavilion may correspond to the tower of the strong house. Clos of walls, the vast park has been transformed into pastures. The castle, as it is today, was built on the cellars of a medieval fortress. It is surrounded by ditches and is accessed by a dormant bridge. The castle, private property, does not visit. It has been listed as historic monuments since 3 October 1997. This inscription concerns the castle and its outbuildings, the ditches and the dormant bridge as well as the small chapel with decoration of gypseries and ground and carved panels.
History: 1275: The first known owner of the fortified house is Hugues (IV) d'Antigny. At the end of the 13th century, she moved to Hugues V in Vienna and, after him, to other members of the Vienna family (cf. St. Croix). 15th century: the castle passes to the family of Beaurepaire.
