The Château de Chanteloup is a former 11th century castle, rebuilt in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, which stands in the Centre-Manche on the territory of the French commune of Chanteloup, in the department of Manche, in the Normandy region. The building is fully protected as historical monuments.

Location: The castle is located 600 metres south of the Saint-Pierre church, on the commune of Chanteloup, in the French department of La Manche. He would have been able to monitor the nearby Vanlea harbour, allowing coastal incursions.

History: The manor is mentioned for the first time in 1022 in a charter signed for the benefit of the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, and is said to have been built by a lord of Chanteloup, a companion of William the Conqueror, who had obtained property in the counties of Dorset, Hereford and Worcester. It is the property of Chanteloup's family who joined the Paynel family when Agnes de Chanteloup married Foulques III Paynel in 1286.
