About

The Sainte-Croix church of Ivry-Port is a Catholic church in the commune of Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne). This contemporary-style church was built from 2001 to 2004 as part of the Cardinal's Work of Buildings and consecrated in 2005 to replace the church destroyed by an accidental fire on August 21, 2000. The Sainte-Croix church is the parish church of the Ivry-Port district, a former industrial district that extends along the Seine to the east of the commune of Ivry sur Seine.

This church pays tribute in particular to Madeleine Delbrêl, a Christian personality who lived in Ivry from 1904 to 1964 and who invested with the poorest. In the 1930s, she worked alongside the communist municipality to help the unemployed.
