Ablon Castle is a castle located in the commune of Ablon, in the department of Calvados and the Normandy region.

History: Built around the thirteenth century by the lords of Ablon, the castle was completely destroyed during the Hundred Years War. Another castle was rebuilt on the same sites in the 15th century, overlooking the mouth of the Seine. This second castle remains today a single tower. Around 1767, Jean-Baptiste de Brèvedent, decided to completely overhaul the castle, he had three of the towers removed, the drawbridge and the moats, and the castle was now made of bricks (instead of stone and wood). Unfortunately, the new construction was never completed completely since two wings had to be added on either side of the castle. In 1862 Arcisse de Caumont specified "that he is still occupied by the family which bears the name of the parish", hence the descendants of the lords of Ablon. The present castle can be described as a pink brick gentilhommière of the Louis XVI period, in the heart of the Normandy countryside, surrounded by an English-style park of about ten hectares with three-hundred-year-old Lebanese cedar, Chinese pavilion...
