The Achicourt Road Cemetery is a military cemetery of the First World War, located on the territory of the commune of Achicourt, in the department of Pas-de-Calais, southwest of Arras.

Achicourt Road Cemetery

Location: Surrounded by housing, this cemetery is located on the road to Bucquoy, 1.3 km southeast of the town hall. It is accessible from the road by a grassed road of about 50 meters.

Achicourt Road Cemetery

The cemetery was established in March 1917 and served until June to bury Commonwealth soldiers who had fallen during the Battle of Arras. The cemetery was used again in August and September 1918 when the area was finally released. The Achicourt Road Cemetery contains 131 First World War burials, eight of which are unidentified.

Characteristics: This cemetery has a nearly squared plan of 20 m side with a arch in full hanger in the northern part, and is surrounded entirely enclosed by a brick wall. It was designed by British architect William Harrison Cowlishaw.
