Chapel
chapelle des Ursulines
The Ursulines chapel is an ancient church of the Holy Family and the Holy Spirit built in 1707 on a land called "Bel Orient". She welcomed the Ursulines religious community to Quintin (Côtes-d'Armor). It presents the architectural singularity of a two-storey Juvena (sleeping) above the nave.
The Juvena is illuminated by an oculus and two rows of windows, of which only one remains. The people supposedly hostile to the Revolution of 1789 were placed under house arrest. Until the closure of the convent in 1904, the Quintin Ursulines had as their main task the education of girls.
The nave received the German tanks in 1940, then served as a sports hall at Jean Monnet High School. The church is integrated into communal buildings, which are now rented by BSB, Buildings and Styles of Brittany, for social housing. The church is called "*" Chapel of the Ursulines" (Box C 434) since its inscription in historical monuments by decree of 14 May 1986 to avoid its collapse.
The nave was completely scaffolded until 2022. Since 2011, this monument is attached to the foundation of the Maison des Pages de Camille Aubaude...
