thermes antiques de Royat
The ancient thermal baths of Royat-Chamalières, often called the ancient thermal baths of Royat, are a Roman Roman thermal establishment built in Roman Gaul, in the city of Arvernes, on the territory of the present municipality of Chamalières in the French department of Puy-de-Dôme (region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes). These large thermal baths (2,800 m2) have not been the subject of a complete, accurate and documented search. Their dates of construction and abandonment are unknown.
Their status itself is not known: they may need to be attached to a secondary agglomeration. Their remains, including those of a large swimming pool still visible, have been classified as historical monuments since 1889.
