château Saint-Jean de Nogent-le-Rotrou
Château Saint-Jean or Château des Counts du Perche is a former castle located in the commune of Nogent-le-Rotrou in the natural region of Perche and the French department of Eure-et-Loir, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. It constitutes a remarkably preserved medieval castral motte and has been listed on the list of historical monuments since 1948 and has been classified since 1952. He took the name of Château Saint-Jean in memory of the death of Lord Rotrou IV under the walls of Saint-Jean-d'Acre in 1191, during the Third Crusade.
