History: The building is mentioned in several 17th and 18th century acts under the name of Pierre-soupèse. The name of Cabane de César was wrongly given to him in 1771 by Michel-Étienne Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau, then exiled to the city of Felletin, who would otherwise have imperfectly restored the monument. The local peasants called it Cabane des Fées, but there was a cave in the neighborhood called Cabane de César, and there would have been confusion between the two. The building was listed as historic monuments by order of 7 November 1966. Between 1987 and 1989, the service of the prehistoric antiquities of the Limousin undertook a planned excavation and then a restoration conducted by R. Nicoux.
Description: The construction of the dolmen was preceded by a disbursement of the substrate. The dolmen has six orthostats: three to the north, two to the south, one to the west.
