About

The chapel Saint-Michel d'Epinal is a Gothic-style Catholic chapel, built between 1477 and 1479 on a spur of pink sandstone, Mont-le-Duc, close to the centre of Epinal, in the Vosges. It is the only medieval chapel that remains on the outskirts of the city. Its vaults are decorated with 15th century murals.

In 1876 an additional neo-Roman-style span was added. The Saint-Michel Chapel has been included in the inventory of historical monuments since 6 May 1992. It was also known as "the chapel of patronage" or "the chapel of Franciscans".
