About

The church Saint-Pierre is located in the commune of Avevezé, within the department of Sarthe, in the region of Pays de la Loire. This place of Catholic worship is originally a Priorial Church. The cultural building, commissioned by Knight Guillaume Chesnels, was built at the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries (around 1100).

The religious building has a multiple architectural type; Indeed, its nave with "flat" bedsides, which forms its base, is Romanesque in style, while its choir, foothills, bays, altarpieces and tower, which were later built or redesigned, look like a Gothic style. On 6 June 1989, the Church of Saint-Pierre d'Avezé received, thanks to a measure taken by ministerial decree, a classification on the list of historical monuments of France.
