Thermae
thermes romains de Santa Laurina
The Roman baths of Santa Laurina are the remains of a Roman bath establishment located in Aléria, Upper Corsica. The history of these thermal baths, located at the foot of the hill on which the ancient city is built and near the river Tavignano, is not well known: they may be built in the late 2nd century AD to be abandoned a century later at the latest. The debate remains open as to their possible reuse as Paleo-Christian basilica.
They were partially searched at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, but most of the rooms that composed them could be identified. Their remains, sometimes preserved on a height of more than 5 m, are listed as historical monuments in 2007.
