The Zouaves or Zouaves is a battlefield of the First World War, located in Moulin-sous-Touvent in the northeast of the Oise.

World War I memorial site: This hill was on the front line from Tracy-le-Val to the Red House farm. Occupied by French troops since September 1914, an entire company of Zouaves was buried there by the explosion of a German mine in December 1914.

World War II memorial site: During the occupation in 1942, six hostages were shot by the Germans. The site has been listed as a Historic Monument since April 2, 2002.

A disputed place of memory: Since 2010, the site has been the subject of a protest against its registration by the company Gurdebeke, a nearby waste storage company that would like to see the protection perimeter reduced from 500 to 150 metres in court. The SCI of the Marquet thus requested in 2014 the regional prefect to obtain the cancellation of the registration and then asked the administrative court of Amiens to annul the implied decision of rejection resulting from the silence observed by the prefect...
