Disneyland Park is a theme park of the Walt Disney Company, located in Marne-la-Vallée, Seine-et-Marne, France, and opened on April 12, 1992. It is part of the Disneyland Paris leisure complex, formerly called Euro Disney Resort and then Disneyland Resort Paris. The complex belongs mainly to the Walt Disney Company via Euro Disney SCA with 97.08 % of the shares.
The park was first called Euro Disneyland until October 1, 1994, then Disneyland Paris until 2002, when it acquired its current name as Disneyland Park. This change in 2002 was the result of the opening in 2002 of the second park, Walt Disney Studios Park, so the name Disneyland Park would allow visitors to better understand the presence of two parks. However, the name Disneyland Paris, which has been known as the recreation complex since May 2009, is now confusing, as it was formerly used to designate Disneyland Park.
