The Musée du Pays de Luchon has been located since 1926, at the 18th aisles of Etigny, in the centre of Bagnères-de-Luchon in the Château Lafont-Lassalle, or Lassus-Nestier hotel. The museum has been closed since 2021 for transformation, the date of reopening is undetermined to date on 28 February 2026. The house dates from the 18th century and is registered by order of 2 March 1927.

His staircase was classified on 8 June 1931. The building was built in 1772 by Marc François Bertrand de Lassus-Nestier. In 1922, the Julien Sacaze Academy set itself the objective of protecting the wealth scattered in the Hautes Vallées du Comminges, maintaining local usages and mountain traditions to engage in the creation of a museum essentially Luchonnais.
