The Romanesque chapel, next to Notre Dame Church, was built in the 11th century. Notre-Dame Church is designed by Sarthois architect François Liger. Construction began in 1851 and ended in 1901. The imposing building is 70 metres long and 38 metres wide at the transept level. The nave is 22 meters high and the bell towers are 60 meters high. The carillon composed of sixteen bells is the work of the Bollée foundry. On August 5, 1860, the official and solemn consecration of the church of Notre-Dame took place, in Romano-Byzantine style. The bell towers were only completed 40 years later. The blessing of the bell towers took place from July 26 to 30, 1899. Initially it was not two towers that were planned but a dome. The bells were suspended on 27 October 1907 and blessed two days later, on 29 October 1907.
