The Breton departmental museum of Quimper, created in 1846 by the Société archéologique du Finistère, is housed in the former palace of the bishops of Cornouaille, near the Cathedral of Saint-Corentin. Defining itself as a "social museum", he presents archaeology and the arts (sculpture, costumes, furniture, faience, stained glass, painting, etc.) of the Finistère department.
