pont de l'île de Ré
The bridge of the island of Ré is located in Charente-Maritime and was opened for traffic on 19 May 1988. The bridge connects the island of Re to the continent by a curve of 2,926.5 meters in length culminating at 42 meters above the sea. It runs from La Repentie, near the port of La Pallice to the north-west of La Rochelle, to the point of Sablanceaux to Rivedoux-Plage on the eastern shore of the island of Re. It is the second longest bridge in metropolitan France behind the bridge of Saint-Nazaire and in front of the bridge of the island of Oléron.
