Château de Vitré

Vitré Castle is a powerful castle located at the western end of the fortified town of Vitré, Ille-et-Vilaine, on the steps of Brittany. The part of the castle belonging to the municipality of Vitré has been classified as historical monuments since 1 June 1872. The absidial edicle of the Observatory Tower has been classified as historical monuments since 15 July 1898. A remaining part of the castle has been classified as historical monuments since 14 October 1902.
