About

Dissignac is a megalithic funerary monument located in the commune of Saint-Nazaire in the Loire-Atlantique department of France. The architecture of the monument, the engravings, and the archaeological material found there allow it to date between 4,700 and 4,500 years B.C.E., making it the oldest megalithic building in Loire-Atlantique. It is contemporary with the broken Great Menhir of Locmariaquer (Morbihan), and 2,000 years older than the first pyramid of Egypt (Djeser).

Owned by the State, Dissignac's tumulus has been a historic monument since 1889. It is only available for the visit in July and August and during European Heritage Days.
