The Image Bank of Toulouse Museum is an internal service of Toulouse Museum. Related to Heritage, the Image Bank is part of the Library and Documentation Service. She has several missions, since she manages, centralizes and makes available to all, the photographic campaigns carried out within the establishment (reports and studio shots).
For several years, the work of the photo library has also been aimed at bringing the photographic collections to conservation standards, inventorying and digitizing. This requires very precise historical and technical research, a close link with the museum's conservation department and exchanges with specialists (other museums, donors, academics, etc.). After identification, a study is carried out on the lives of photographers and the context of the photographs of each period and geographical area concerned.
It enriches its collections with donations or purchases of old photographs to continue to enrich its holdings.
