About

Église Saint-Martin de Lusigny-sur-Barse is a church in the commune of Lusigny-sur-Barse in the Aube department. It was a priory-cured that depended on the abbey Saint-Loup de Troyes since the donation was made in 1143 by Bishop Haton, to the Grand Dean of Troyes. It is mostly from the 16th century except for its nave which is more recent.

Built on a plane of a Latin cross with a five-sided apse, its facade tower is from the departmental architect Roussel who added it after the three-span nave was increased to five in 1879. Among his furniture is Paul Boucher's funerary slab, whose transcription: "CY GIST AND REPOSE PAUL DE BOUCHER ESCUYER SEIGNEUR DU PLESSY LEQUEL DECEDA ON 15 MAY 1621 AAGE OF 45 YEARS PURE GOD FOR THE REPOSAL OF HIS LOVE". That of the 16th century with the motto " WHO LIKES BEAUTIFUL".

A 14th century Virgin with Child in stone with traces of gilding and polychromy and an education of Mary in wood of the 14th century.
