Samarobriva

Samarobriva is the name of Amiens in the Gallo-Roman period. Following the destruction of the Second World War, archaeological excavations were undertaken in the city centre and numerous remains of the Roman city were discovered before the reconstruction of the city. Samarobriva is, therefore, one of the best known ancient cities of the Belgian Gaul.
