Sculpture Park Engelbrecht

The Engelbrecht sculpture park is located at the Fougis castle in Thionne, in the Allier department, and features impressive steel sculptures by Erich Engelbrecht, an artist of German origin. In 2001, Erich Engelbrecht purchased the property of the Fougis with the intention of installing his sculpture park in the garden, fields and old hunting grounds. With other works of his creation, but belonging to a private collection and brought to the Fougis, the artist also designs, with the help of his wife, a second exhibition in the main wing of the castle.

A selection of his previous works (from the 1960s, 70s, 80s and early 1990s) such as tapestries of small and large size, oil paintings (in Mrs Engelbrecht's private apartment), small metal or wooden sculptures and several graphic works can be enjoyed. The outdoor exhibition at the sculpture park is open to the public visit. The exhibition inside the castle is only accessible by reservation, as part of a private visit.
