Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Moyenpont

History: The name Moyenpont would come from the bridge that gives access to the chapel, between the two arms of Cologne. Tradition makes its construction go back to the Crusades, when a shepherd discovered a statue of the virgin on the scene. Many miracles would be carried out there and it was therefore a place of pilgrimage especially for the novena of 23 June or for the one of 8 September

Characteristics: This chapel, destroyed during the First World War, was reconstructed identically in 1925, thanks to the patronage of Baroness Perthuis de Taillevault. The neoclassical stone façade is surmounted by a bell tower, the body of the building is built of brick. The interior decor consists of frescoes depicting the life of the Poilus. On the white marble altar a statue of the Virgin to the child is wrapped in a coat sewn with golden threads. An oratory dedicated to Saint Joseph, which was once a drinking pot with horses, was erected next door.
