Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Edme de Pontigny Cathedral, a former abbey church of the Cistercian monastery of Pontigny, became parish church of the village of the same name after the French Revolution, is since 1954 the cathedral church of the territorial prelature of the Mission of France. The name of the abbey is still generally attributed to him.

Location: The church is located in the north of Burgundy, in the French department of Yonne and the commune of Pontigny.

The Abbey houses the tomb of St.Edme of the 16th century, with its 18th and 19th century dais and the reliquary of his arm. There is also the funeral plaque of Edme Robinet and the tomb ofHugues de Mâcon, first abbot of Pontigny, bishop of Auxerre.

History: The building was classified as historic monuments in 1840 and was ranked MH (1942).
