Church building
basilique Notre-Dame des Tables
The Notre-Dame des Tables Basilica is a basilica church located in the heart of Montpellier, rue du Collège, and is intimately linked to the history of Montpellier. This church is the mother church of Montpellier and the city is under its patronage as well as that of Saint Firmin. Construction of the Baroque-style building began in 1707 under the direction of architect Jean Giral and was completed in 1748. This is the former chapel of the Jesuit College (now the Fabre Museum), which became the parish church of Notre-Dame des Tables in 1802.
