Cemetery cross
croix de cimetière à Boisredon
The cemetery cross in Boisredon, a commune in the Charente-Maritime department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France, is a 12th-century cemetery cross. It was listed as a historic monument on November 30, 1984. This cross is placed on an octagonal base, the square barrel decored with arabesques, interlaces and shells is decorated with characters.
Adam's first disobedience to God is represented. A leafy, intertwined tree of the snake gives shade to Adam on the right, and Eve on the left, on the south corner. One standing character has an anchor, while another carries a closed book.
On the upper plane are four characters. The stone cross added to this barrel was replaced at the end of the 20th century by a simple uncarved cross. The cemetery cross was moved and rested in front of the church between two foothills.
