Calvary
calvaire de Plougonven
The Calvary of Plougonven is located in the parish enclosure of Plougonven (in Finistère, Brittany), in the middle of the old cemetery. It is a work of a height of 4 meters on an octagonal base, with a double row of cornices on which are statuettes depicting many scenes. Directed by Bastien and Henry Prigent, it is dated 1554.
This monument was restored in 1898 by Yann Larc'hantec, native of Plougonven. Together with the church and the funeral chapel, the Calvary has been listed as historical monuments since 1916.
