cathédrale Notre-Dame-des-Pommiers de Sisteron
Notre-Dame-des-Pommiers Cathedral (or Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Thyrse Cathedral) is a Roman Catholic church built in Sisteron (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), under the protection of the Virgin and Saint Thyrse. It is the former cathedral of the diocese of Sisteron and since 1916, one of the cocathedrals of the diocese of Digne, Riez and Sisteron. Its name comes from an alteration of the Latin word "pomerium" which referred to the space between the houses and the ramparts where it was built.
With its three naves, it is one of the largest religious buildings in Provence. It is a Romanesque style subject to Lombard influences (portal, bedside).
