centre d'études et musée Edmond-Michelet
Located in Edmond Michelet's house, resistant and statesman (1899-1970), the Edmond-Michelet Centre for Studies and Museum is a public institution in the city of Brive-la-Gaillarde. The institution is both a centre for documentation and archives, which preserves Edmond Michelet's personal papers, and a museum open to the public. The nine exhibition rooms reveal various aspects of the Second World War: the Resistance and Deportation, Vichy's regime and its propaganda through image, daily life under the occupation and the liberation of Brive. The museum's collections are distinguished by the preservation of more than 400 French-language propaganda posters dating from the Second World War.
