The Notre-Dame-de-Consolation Chapel is a chapel located 23, rue Jean-Goujon in the Champs-Élysées district (8th arrondissement) in Paris. Today it is entrusted to the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pie X by its owner, the Memorial Association of the Bazar de la Charité.
Built on the site of the Bazaar of Charity, this expiatory chapel is dedicated to the more than one hundred and twenty victims of the fire of the wooden hangar that housed this charitable sale on May 4, 1897. The first stone of the religious building was laid on 4 May 1898, one year to the day after the tragedy; it was inaugurated on May 4, 1900. His architect, Albert Guilbert, was awarded one of the gold medals of the 1900 Universal Exhibition for its construction. During the 20th century, two congregations followed each other in order to perpetuate the cult: the Sisters supporting the Purgatory (from 1900 to 1953) and the Italian Catholic Mission in Paris (from 1953 to 2012), including the Scalabrin fathers; The faithful relocated to the church of Saint-Pierre-de-Chaillot in January 2013.
