Chapel
chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Vignes de Visan
The chapel of Notre-Dame-des-Vignes de Vian, in the enclave of the popes, is a place of rural worship whose early construction was dated from the first half of the thirteenth century. Dite Notre-Dame-d'Entre-les-Vignes until the 18th century, it had the peculiarity of being placed under the responsibility of rectoresses. Today it remains a place of pilgrimage for the Confrérie Saint-Vincent de Vian who, during his summer chapter, in the presence of the newly elected king, queen and lieutenant of the brotherhood, makes bless a vine foot, the souco in Provençal, in the hope of a future good and beautiful harvest.
