chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Chêne de Blotzheim
The Notre-Dame-du-Chêne chapel is built on an ancient Roman oak tree in Blotzheim (High Rhine, Alsace). It has undergone numerous renovations over the centuries. It is the only chapel under the name of Sancta Maria ad Robur in Alsace.
The bell tower dates back to 1494. The main altar of the Baroque period, statues, paintings saved from destruction from the Capuchin convent founded in 1737, and especially a Callinet Brothers organ of 1843 can be seen there. This chapel has been the subject of an inscription as historical monuments since 26 March 1986.
