The chapel Saint-Sauveur d'Iraty in Mendive, in the northern Basque Country and the French department of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, is located in the most mountainous part of the commune. It was a stage on the roads of Compostela, and an important pilgrimage took place every year for the feast of Ascension.
