La Chapelle Saint-Étienne de Vaissière is a Romanesque chapel located in Azille in the French department of Aude in the Occitanie region.

Location: The Saint-Étienne-de-Vaissière chapel stands in the vineyards of a private estate located about 5 km west of Azille, south of the Route de Rieux-Minervois, not far from the Argent-Double River.

History: The chapel was built in the 11th century but the central apse was rebuilt in the 12th century. It has been listed as historical monuments since 14 April 1948.

Romanesque bedside: Isolated in the middle of the vineyards and flanked by cypress trees, the chapel has a beautiful Romanesque bedside with a 12th century central apse made of cut stone and two 11th century apsidioles assembled in irregular apparatus, like the rest of the building. The central apse, built on a broad base of rubble, is rhythmized by six beautiful columns, three of which (south side) are partially destroyed.
