Description: The chapel of the Maladrerie of Saint-Julien-du-Sault (inscription by order of 30 October 1925) is characterized by a simple rectangular plan. It is built with local materials in mill block. Despite its transformation into a stable, it still has traces of origin: a niche under the left window of the triplet and a sink mounted in full hanger with chamfered edges in the north wall. Like most of the maladries in the Middle Ages, it was close to the Roman Way and a stream (the Yonne).
The existence of maladry with the aim of regrouping, isolating and treating people suffering from the illness reported from the East by the Crusaders is attested from 1211 in a charter agreement between Miles d'Ordon and his uncle Hugues, priest of the "house of lepers of Saint-Julien" (domo leprosum Sancti Juliani) It was open...
