The castle of Auberoche is the name of an old destroyed castle whose site is located in the commune of Change, in the French department of Dordogne. Only one chapel remains, classified as historical monuments since 1960.

Châtellenia: Auberoche's chestnut was located in the northeast part of Aquitaine. It occupied, in the central Périgord, an important territory, sixteen kilometers east of the town of Périgueux, upstream of the confluence of the Isle and the Auvézère. This territory was imposed on 15 communes, spread over three cantons, belonging to the district of Périgueux. The communal framework allows for an assessment of the territorial right of way of chestnuts, covering approximately 25,000 hectares. Its vast territory spans the three valleys of Isle, Auvézère and Manoire, the valley of Auvézère constituting a main axis of east-west direction, a veritable corridor on both sides of which seems to have organized the territorial base of the chestnut.
