The Château d'Epiry is located on the town of Saint-Émiland in Saône-et-Loire, on the side of the hillside, away from the village.

Description: The castle has preserved from the medieval period four round towers and a body of houses which indicate the polygonal plan of the old castle ordered around the courtyard; the wall that originally closed this courtyard was replaced by a gate, framed by two stone lions, to which is accessed by a bridge that crosses the still visible moat. The four round towers could date from the 14th century. The north-west tower has retained three carefully arranged stone sterns, distributed in relation to each other so as to dominate the entrance angle of the castle. The southeast tower contains the 15th century chapel, adorned with a flamboyant swimming pool and ancient stained glass windows, where Roger de Rabutin had to be named. The 15th century house body occupies, between the two towers, the north side of the courtyard. The exterior façade is rather austere, the one of the courtyard is more decorated.
